“If a brother or sister be
naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them,
Depart in peace, be ye warmed and
filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which
are needful to the body; what does it profit? Even so faith, if it
hath not works, is dead, being alone.” James 2:15-17
Dear
Friends,
It is always a pleasure to write and let you know what the
Lord has done and is doing at
Hopes for Others, in Arad,
Romania.
As
I write this letter, the foundation for the clinic is finally
completed.
There
have been numerous problems, but we praise God that this phase is
finally completed. We hope to be able to begin work on the upper
structure soon. We are always being asked when we expect the
clinic to be operational, and we just tell everyone that it is all
in God’s time. If He should choose to make it possible, perhaps
in 18 months we could begin to help people. As in so many areas,
the needs are overwhelming. Please join us in earnest prayer that
the needs will be met in order to complete the construction and
then for the equipment needed.
So often we think of how we made the first trips to
Romania
,
always carrying two 70 pound bags per person, just doing what God
allowed us to do. And then we think of all that He has done since
1995. We would certainly never have dreamed that God would do what
He has done, or what He is doing now.
It is such a privilege when the Lord allows us to
participate in being a blessing to others.
We all forget how little things
we offer, or which God had given to us to share, can be
such a blessing to others.
We were recently donated a container full of Beanie Babies,
and the shipping was again provided by Mrs. Shirley Gremyachev
and Universal Aid Society of
Vancouver,
B. C., Canada.
These
are being delivered to
street children and orphanages throughout
Romania
and the
Republic
of
Moldova
. The following story is
from Anton Osinich, who ministers in the nursing homes in
Arad.
“We
brought one of the stuffed animals to Gitsa. He has been in the
nursing home longer than anyone else, and no one even knows how
long he has been there. He fell in a fire when he was two years
old and was severely burned. His legs are drawn up to his waist
and he has no use of one of his arms. We brought him one of the
stuffed lions and he loves it. He has had it for 3 weeks and the
other men in his room talk about him playing with it and talking
to it throughout the day.”
It is such a blessing to bring something to someone who has
nothing at all and to see it make a difference in their life.”
Only because
of your prayers and support all
of this is possible.
Thank
you!
In His Service,
Johnny
, Sissie, Jackie, and Kids
