“Therefore,
my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always
abounding in the work
of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in
vain in the Lord”.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Dear
Friends,
-
First
of all, I want to thank you all for your prayers and your
support. The Lord continues to bless at Hopes for Others, and to
answer prayers.
-
Construction
began on the clinic this past week, and after 2 years of working
toward this, we are so grateful. Please pray with us that the
construction will proceed without any major problems and that
the clinic, when completed, will operate in such a way as to
glorify our Lord.
-
We
also have received good news regarding the Kindergarten. I had
shared with you that we were going to have to move the
Kindergarten due to construction that was going to have to be
done in the church sanctuary. While I was in Romania, a few
weeks ago, the pastor notified us and told us that the
kindergarten was such a ministry to children that they would
work it out for us to continue to use the facilities. What an
answer to prayer!

Hopes
for Others is a ministry that helps in many different area.
There is often the opportunity and privilege
of ministering
to individual needs. The following is the story of one such
incident.
-
“Her name is Dana.
She is the mother of a 5 year old boy and she is about to
go crazy. Her
parents were rich. Her
dad worked
in the army as a colonel and her mom worked at the Courthouse .
Her dad started drinking and because of that, they lost
everything they had. She
married a nice man , she thought, but he stole and blamed her.
She went to jail for awhile .
She is out and is left alone with no money and a child to
raise. It is hard
for her to understand why she is the one who has to pay for
every wrong deed her loved one did.
She has no windows at her tiny house, instead of windows,
she has a wooden board and has only one bed in the room.
She has no job and no income.
She has us now and from next week she won’t have to
worry for food, for she will eat in our cantina.
We will also buy materials for her and help her fix her
house and make it a home for her and for her 5 year old son.”
In June of 2001, the Lord blessed Hopes for Others with
the Osinach family from
Baton Rouge
,
Louisiana.
They simply felt that they were to go to
Romania
and serve in any way that God directed them. Anton, Ann, and their
children are a blessing to so many.
In the picture, Anton is
working on the feet of an elderly person in a nursing home in Arad.
There are approximately 300 people here, and they do love the
attention they receive from Anton and his family. They also love
oranges, bananas and blow pops, which we can sometimes provide. It
takes so little in the way of kindness to mean so much to them.
Anton also has the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with
them as he treats their feet.
Again, we thank you for your
prayers and support, and ask that you
continue to pray
that God
will be
glorified in whatever is accomplished in
these ministries.
In His Service,
Johnny
Huffman

And the
King shall answer and say unto them,
"Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as you have done it
unto the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto
me."
