Phil. 2:7--But
made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a
servant, and was made in the likeness of men.
Dear Friends,
As always, it
is our prayer that all of you are doing well. The flu bug has really
been hitting us here at Fairhaven, but hopefully we almost over it.
I was in Romania again in October,
and it was a blessing, as always, to see what God is doing through
the ministry and the people that work in it. Sometimes, when I visit
the kindergarten, the children will sing for me. As most of you
know, they are taught English for an hour each day. If you would
like a real blessing, you should hear a room full of 4 or 5 yr olds
singing praise songs in English with their
Romanian
accent!! I am sure that Jesus enjoys hearing them also. Most of the
children come from non-Christian homes, and enough can’t be said of
our teachers who do such a great job not only educating them but
also teaching them the Word of God. There about 100 children in the
kindergarten.
I also had the privilege of being
at one of the Bible Club meetings which Benjamin has each Saturday
with the street children. It was really a blessing to watch as they
wanted to participate by either reading from the Bible or helping to
lead singing. This is a very unique ministry and God has been
blessing it.
While there, we went to stake out
some of the farmland we had purchased near the village of Zarand. We
did this so that we could hire someone to go ahead and plow the
ground before winter. This area is very flat and this is where we
will be raising most of our crops and vegetables. The beef, pork,
and goats will be raised at the other farms near the village of
Vosaia.
The farm at Vosaia is not only very rich for grazing, but also has
pear, apple, plumb, and walnut trees on it. In the picture you can
see Fanna, who works in our kitchen, preparing the apples for
winter. These will be a blessing in feeding so many each day.
Also, as you can see, they are almost completed with the roof on
the clinic. We thank God for making this possible before bad weather
arrives. Please continue to pray for completion of construction in
the near future.
We were recently given 40 tons of
cornmeal for Romania. One container, with 20 tons, was unloaded on
Nov. 27th. We are hoping the other container will be
arriving soon. Also, on Nov 2nd, we shipped another
container from here. Besides food, clothes, and medical supplies, we
also had 2600 Christmas boxes
for
children, plus enough toys and other things to help about 300 other
children to have something for Christmas. There were also about 400
bags and boxes for those in nursing homes. We want to thank all of
you who had a part in working to provide all of these.
We continue to praise God for His
faithfulness and provisions as He makes it possible for us to serve
others. There is no way we can express to you our appreciation for
your prayers and support.
On behalf of everyone here at
Fairhaven, and our co-workers in Arad, Romania, we wish you a Merry
Christmas and very blessed New Year.
In His Service,
Johnny, Sissie, Jackie, and Kids
