"Hopes
For Others" Newsletter
October 11, 2001
“You
did not choose Me, but I chose
you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that
your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My
name He may give it to you. These things I command you, that you
love one another”. John 15:16-17

Dear
Dear Friends,
It is our hopes and prayers that the Lord is
continuing to bless all of you. He has been and continues to be so
good to us here at Fairhaven and at Hopes for Others in Arad.. No,
I am not saying that things always go smoothly and that there are
never problems, only that God helps us to make it through them all
with His faithfulness. We praise Him for His faithfulness in
meeting the needs.
Containers continue to go to Arad. I have lost count
of the number that have gone out this year, but I
am sure the total number sent so far is at least 30. The
Lord willing, we will be loading another one from Fairhaven on
October 27th. Besides the food, medical supplies and
clothes, we will be sending Christmas Shoeboxes for children. We
are praying to have at least 1000. Can you imagine a child
receiving this who would otherwise having nothing for Christmas?
We are so thankful to all of you who have chosen to have
a part in
this. (Update... we actually had 1080! This is one advantage of
this newsletter being posted late on the net!)
We would ask that you pray with us regarding our
kitchen facilities in The Servant’s house. It is completed and
has been licensed for use by the Sanitary Dept. We are just
waiting for the Lord to send the funds for buying food, cooking,
and delivering the food
to the elderly and handicapped people who have no one to help
them. Please pray that this will all work out. We know it will,
all in God’s time.
The Lord willing, construction will start on the
clinic in 4 weeks or so. I was in Arad
recently and had several meetings with the Architect,
Engineers, Doctor in charge of Clinic Standards, and Contractor.
It was something to see God working a spirit of unity in so many
individuals. Please pray for this project. We had funds donated
especially for this and we pray that this, like everything else,
will done in such a way as to glorify our Lord.

This picture is of the
unloading of a container, which was shipped from Canada, to
Arad in March.
What you are seeing is the unloading of a drum
of dehydrated soup mix.
Several of these (thousands of meals) were donated by Okanagan
Gleaners in Canada, and we praise
the Lord for this.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support. It is our prayer
that the Lord will richly bless you as you continue to serve Him
and to serve others.
In
His Service,
Johnny
