James
2:15-16: " If a brother or sister be naked, or destitute of
daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye
warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things
which are needful to the body what doth it profit?"
Dear Friends,
As always, it is so good to share with you how the Lord is blessing
at Hopes for Others. We never cease to be amazed at His blessings
and the way He answers prayers.
Many of you know that we have been praying for a farm for about 3
years now. Well, this summer, God gave us the funds with which to
purchase a farm. Right now, I guess we have purchased about 50
acres, but hope to purchase at least a hundred more near the village
of Vosoiai. We praise God for the opportunity to not only farm in
this area, but pray that He will also allow us to build a chapel
there and have services there. Please pray for this also. Vosaia is
beautiful area, as you can see, and is like going 100 years back in
time.
We would ask that all of you continue to pray for the clinic, that
we may have the roof on before winter. God has certainly blessed us
to let it come so far.
I would like to
again remind those of you who want to help with the Christmas boxes
for Romanian children, and Christmas bags/ boxes to those in nursing
homes, that we need them all here by the last weekend in Octorber.
The Lord willing, we will load on November 2. We would ask that
all of you pray that we will have at least 3500 boxes this
year. Last year, we shipped about 2600 and were 800 short of having
enough for all the children in different churches where we deliver
supplies.
How blessed we are to have a small part in touching the lives of
some that are looked down on and seem to have no hope! There are so
many that have never experienced anyone actually caring for them. In
the picture you see here, you see Street Children in Arad caroling
during last Christmas season. Some told me that this had to be a
“first” for no one had ever heard of this before. I believe it is a
result of them seeing the love of Jesus in action from others, and
not just hearing the words.
Some of the these
young people went with those from Hopes for Others to deliver to
needy at Christmas time. As they left one home of a poor elderly
lady, one of the street children told Anton that they would be back
the next day. Anton asked why. The young man told him that God had
blessed him and that this lady was so poor and he wanted to help her
as much as possible. This coming from a “street kid”---and so often
we hesitate to give out of our abundance!!! What a message!
On behalf of
everyone here at Fairhaven, and those at Hopes for Others in Arad,
Romania, I want to offer our most sincere gratitude for your prayers
and your support. Please know that we never do take either of these
for granted. May the Lord bless you all.
In
His Service,
Johnny, Sissie, Jackie, and Children
