Fairhaven update-October-04-2025

John 4:13-15 (NASV)– 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 14 [a]Yet you do not know [b]what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. 15 [c]Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.”

Dear Friends,

When I got up this morning, I had my day planned—working on a trailer, working over in the pasture,……and getting some other things done. However, I have felt that I should write this letter for a few days now so I got a little done outside and here I am.

One of my prayers each day is that I will be open to God’s will, whether I understand what is going on or not. I do not think I have ever had a greater desire to “be an instrument in His hand”, accomplishing His will and seeing this ministry express His love and compassion.

As many of you know, for about 55 years, Fairhaven was both a Children’s Home, and also a conduit of God’s love in meeting needs all over the world. Some of you have read many stories of miracles that God has performed to meet needs both here and abroad. Today, He has the ministry meeting needs in the community every day in different ways—sometimes with food, sometimes medical supplies, or other things. What I am saying is that it does not matter where we are, or what we are doing, as long as we work at being in His will. God has seasons for our lives and His ministries.

The world is indeed in chaos right now but we can be sure of at least 2 things—One is that our Lord is in full control of everything and, Two, that you and I are put here, at this time, for a reason. We just need to be completely open to Him to know His purpose for each of us

Things continue to stay busy around here. I often tell people that “building these buildings was the easy part. Maintaining all of this is something else!” Ha! Please pray with us for what we need in order to take care of some much needed maintenance around here. It is His ministry and we are sure He is going to take care of it. We do thank Him and praise Him for His constant faithfulness.

I want to mention one real need for the homeless ministry in Tulsa, and that is all kinds of hygiene products. If the Lord should make it possible for you to help with this, it would be a blessing. In working with many homeless ministries, I think this is a major need for all of them.

As I read what I have written, I do not seem to have said much, but if nothing else, I want you to know that, in God’s eyes, there is no one on planet earth more important to Him than you are. He loved you enough to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for you that, through Him, you may have eternal life. I am not a pessimist, but I do think our world is about to really face some very trying and dangerous times. However, in knowing Him, we can have peace through it all, knowing He loves us as His children and is in full control.

Sissie and I do thank you all for your prayers and your support. Please know that we never take either of them for granted.

May the Lord bless you all.

In His Service,

Johnny and Sissie
