Haiti Food Shipment Update 4-26-14

Dear Friends,

I hope to finally get this update letter out. I have been trying for at least 2 weeks.

What I am going to do is to include some letters I have rceived regarding the load of food to Haiti, and also maybe some excerpts. However, first, I need to explain how we work sometimes in order to make things happen, then you will understand how I came to have the letters.

You will see the letters are sent to “Shirley”. Well, I know most of you will not know who Shirley is so I want to tell you.

Shirley Gremyachev is founder and director of Universal Aid Society in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A very long story made short is that she is the person who actually got me into shipping containers in 1997. (a true “blessing beyond measure”) Shirley works all over the world doing relief work and has a very dependable network of people in different countries who can clear containers and make sure the supplies arrive where they are needed. She has helped me in several of the places we have worked through the years.

Shirley has worked with Pastor Bob LaFranc, in Haiti for many years, and she knew that he could clear this container with a minimum of problems. Therefore, with the help of her, my shipping agent, and Pastor Bob, the container cleared in about 5 days. This may not seem of much importance to some of you as you read this, but I assure you that there are many containers that set on the docks for months there.
As Bob wrote, he would write to Shirley and she would forward the letters to me. The following are some of the letters:

FROM BOB

Dear Shirley. Here are some more pictures from dear Johnny’s load where the
children are eating with appetite . For most of them that is the most solid
food they will have for the day. Because of this big support, the children
are able to focus better in class, learn better and memorize better. They
are happier and play better. I really thank God for dear Johnny and the
whole team and every one contributing to make this load of food a reality
being a tremendous blessing for the needy children of Haiti.

Blessings,BL

P.S:some more pictures to come

FROM SHIRLEY:

Dear Johnny, Pastor Bob has taken Sister Irene under his wing since I introduced her to him several years ago now. she truly is a one woman show in the area she works in with very little support. Educated in the US with a Masters degree in Science she could be earning big bucks but instead has chosen the road of true riches following Christ. She returned to Haiti to serve the poorest of the poor in the Haitian mountains. I visited her there and witnessed firsthand what she is endeavoring to do with Christ’s help. I am so thankful that Pastor Bob is helping her. Your wonderful donation of food has reached her area of need and she is most grateful. A million thanks and blessings dear Johnny for all you have done. I pray you and Sissy and your many precious children will have a blessed Happy Easter. The grave is empty, He lives, He lives, praise God, Jesus lives. Much love to you all,

Shirl

FROM SISTER IRENE:

“My Dearest Shirl,

HAPPY EASTER! It’s been so long. How are you? I wrote to you one million time in my heart and mind. You have never stop taking care of me. Pastor is my guarding Angel. He is so good to me and my spiritual family here. We have been starving but he came right on time with your gift for me. I am sending you some pictures of distribution to my prayer group and mission workers but I will send you some other pictures on Tuesday.” “The Mission took it’s full strenght but I cannot feed my people. Food for the poor cuts the food in half and the children multiplies. I never knew hunger hurt so bad. I know that you are parying for us and I count on that, always. May HE continue to watch over you and keep you safe.”

In His Great Love,

Irene

The only problem with these letters is that it is not “dear Johnny” that deserves the credit for all of this. First it is the Lord, for touching the hearts of people, and then it is those of you who actually responded and made it all possible. This is what I want you to know as you read these letters. It is only because of your work and sacrifice that these people are able to at least have a great need met temporarily. I have no doubt that the Lord is pleased with all that so many of you have done to make this happen.

Some of you may be wondering why we have not heard from Pastor Remil, to whom half of this load went to. I want to explain to you that he has pictures, but has not had the internet access, where he is located, to get the pictures to us. I will send them to you when I receive them.

May the Lord continue to bless you all.

In His Service,

Johnny
