Fairhaven Update – July 28, 2014

John 13:34-35— 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you,
that ye also love one another.35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one
to another.

Dear Friends,

It is difficult to believe that it is only 2 weeks until school starts back. It has sure been a full and
fast summer vacation for the kids!

We just returned from Florida about a week ago. The Lord really blessed the trip. It was hot, but we only
had a couple of days when it rained a little and that did not slow the kids down at all. They had a great
time fishing, playing in the surf, snorkeling, riding bikes, playing in the sand, etc. On one occasion
they buried Jacob laying in the sand and put little pieces of vienna sausage on top of the sand. The gulls
flew in and ate the sausage off of him. That all went well until the sausage was gone and one noticed his
toe sticking out of the sand and tried to take a bite of it! He sure came out of the sand fast!

As I watch our children, and see how the Lord has blessed them, I am always thinking of the fact that it
is only as the Lord works through the hearts of others that any of this is possible. I am constantly
thankful for how He blesses us not only with what we need here, but with the means to glorify Him through
sharing with others. As we had our devotional each evening, while camping, I used scriptures and stories
to try to teach the children the true meaning of unconditional Christian love and then how that love is to
be manifested through service to others. I pray that it will take root in their hearts.

It is that time of the year when I always remind people about the Christmas Joy Boxes for the children in
Romania. If you would like to be involved in being a very special blessing to some of the children there,
you may either go to our webpage for info, or contact me. If the Lord is willing, we will load them in a
container on November 8th. We would appreciate your prayers regarding all of this. Would you also please
pray for all of those who, through the year, sacrifice so much time and energy in sorting the clothes and
medical supplies that are shipped all over the world? There is no way I can convey to you the work that is
involved in accomplishing all of this. It is WORK and takes much time and dedication.

The Lord willing, we will be sending a load to Green Pastures Ministry in Newport, Tenn. in 2 or 3 weeks.
This will be used in ministering to needs in the Appalacian Mountains. Recently, another load of food went
to a ministry in Arkansas.

We thank you all for your prayers and your support. Please keep the children in your prayers as they face
another school year–that the Lord will continue to strengthen them, direct them, and minister to their
individual needs.

In His Service,
Johnny
