Fairhaven Update November-23-2014

Dear Friends,

The Lord blessed us with the loading of Romania container number 73 on November 8th. We praise Him for working through so many in order to make this possible. His faithfulness never ceases to amaze me.

It is my prayer that as we celebrate the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, we will constantly remind ourselves of the blessings that our Lord has chosen to bestow upon us. That we will not take them for granted, but be open to share our blessings with others, whether it is locally, or halfway around the world. As those who have traveled to many other countries will tell you, we are truly “blessed beyond measure”.

Also, you will find attached, again, the NEEDS FOR ISRAEL list. Also, I asked my pastor, Brother Clark Stewart, to write a brief statement regarding our responsibility to Israel as Americans, but especially as American Christians. Please read this prayerfully and with an open heart.

“As believers in Christ, we have a great privilege and an awesome responsibility concerning the nation of Israel. We are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. We are promised blessings if we bless them. We have the privilege to help meet some of the needs of the Jewish people through Fairhaven Ministries. With continual attacks from Hamas, extreme hatred in the world and economic troubles, there are great needs in Israel. Please pray about your part in helping send needed supplies to the Jewish people. What a witness that could be for Christ, that they know Christians in America love them.
Please join me in helping and praying for this project.
Clark Stewart”

You will notice that the list is very varied. The reason for this simply being that the needs are so varied. The ministry which will receive and distribute these supplies tries to help in every way possible—from survival kits for bomb shelters, to school children, to providing new mattresses for IDF soldiers barracks, helping to provide for new Jewish families moving back to Israel, and also ministering to the needs of approximately 180,000 holocaust survivors that live in Israel today (about 1/3 of whom are impoverished).

Due to very stringent customs laws in Israel, we are asking that, if at all possible, smaller items be purchased by the case. This will make it much easier for keep records for filing with customs.

Again, thank you all for your prayers and support of Fairhaven through the years. In January, the ministry will have been in operation for 49 years. This has only been possible because of people like all of you. You are the ones that have had a part in the ministering not only to the needs of between 300 & 350 children, but also to people all over the world. May the Lord bless you all.

From all of us here at Fairhaven, we wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving.

In His Service,
Johnny
