Fairhaven Update September-20-2016
Philippians 1:6– Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Dear Friends,
It is our prayer that this letter finds all of you doing well. Our Lord continues to bless us and keep us very busy with the kids and also opportunities to be a blessing to others. To be honest, it sure does become tiring at times but it is our hearts desire to be able to be a channel of blessing as the Lord provides the means and opportunities.
Chaz recently accepted the Jesus as his Savior and was baptized this past Sunday. It is blessings such as this that makes everything worth it all.
As you can see from one of the pictures, Daulton graduated from Navy Recruit Training in Great Lakes, Ill.  His sister Mimi, our grandson Stephen, and myself drove up for the graduation. It was a very special day. He graduated on a  Friday and then flew to Pensacola, Fl. on Friday to start school there.
Then, also, our container finally finished clearing customs in Israel. Each container is a learning experience! From a few of the pictures, you can see the container as it arrives at the warehouse in Israel where it is unloaded, then you can see a couple of pictures of the clothes being given out.
Then, there are pictures of Sissie, some of our children, and friends as they make up and deliver food boxes to a very needy area in Denham Springs that was flooded. The needs in this area will continue to be many for many months to come.
As I mentioned in my last update, The Lord has impressed on us, because of all of the major flooding,  the need to minister locally this year instead of our normal Christmas container to Romania. In regards to this, I am attaching a letter (Christmas in South Louisiana) that describes how this will be handled. If you are interested in helping in this respect, the contact info is in this letter. As I have said before, I do not think that anyone can realize the economic impact on this area. Again, if you are a person that lives in that area, or know of a person, that has special needs, please let us know. I never promise anything, but we will be glad to help if we can.
As always, thank you so much for your continued prayers and support! May The Lord continue to richly bless all of you.
In His Service,
Johnny

As well, you are probably aware of the devastating floods that occurred to our neighboring parishes last month. For many, the enormity of the destruction, possibly worse than Hurricane Katrina, has led us to redirect our ministry from Romania to the local children of S. Louisiana.  We are in the process of contacting churches, organizations and individuals in the affected areas.  We will gather demographics of families, in order to provide clothing, toys and gifts for those who may not otherwise have a Christmas this year. Our primary focus will be newborns to 16 year olds.  Those of you wishing to help us with our goals can do so in several ways: 1)  Donate new, unwrapped toys/clothing/gifts. They can be dropped off or shipped to Fairhaven Ministries at the address below. You may also call one of us listed below to have items picked up. 2)  Contact organizations you may be affiliated with, i.e. Church groups, schools, civic groups and work places that would be willing to develop your own gift drive.  3)  Provide monetary donations to Fairhaven, so that we can purchase age appropriate items. 100% of all donations will go to families for Christmas in South Louisiana.  Should you like to be a part of this, or have any questions, please contact one of us below. May God bless you in your thoughtful considerations.  Sherri (volunteer) 985-845-1476, 985-966-0429
