Fairhaven Update – April-12-2017

Luke 6:38–Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Dear Friends,
I hope this finds all of you well. We are constantly thankful for your continued prayers and support.
I apologize for not writing for so long. I often wonder where the hours go each day. I can assure you there are never any “dull days” around here. Maybe very tiring, but surely never dull.
Besides Sweetie’s health issues, we are doing well. We would ask that you continue to hold her up in your prayers.
The children are all well. Recently, Jacob received Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at our church. We are so thankful for this. In the attached pictures, you can see Chaz and Jordin fishing in one of the ponds, and Jordin with a small bass that he caught. They spend many hours out there. Also, Chaz has taken to juggling and is often walking around throwing the tennis balls in the air. Then, yesterday, Mimi had her 12th birthday.
The Lord continues to allow us the privilege of helping others. I think that, in the past 2 ½ months, we have helped more local people than ever  before (in that length of time) with food and medical supplies. And I am not referring to flood victims or anything like that, but just local individuals/families in need.  We are thankful for the privilege of being allowed to do this.
At this time it looks as if we have the opportunity, again, to ship beans and rice to Haiti. The product is purchased by a gentleman in Nebraska and he also pays the shipping to get it to Covington. It is unloaded here and we divide it equally into 2 containers. From here we have to pay the cost of shipping to Port Au Prince, Haiti and also the cost of moving the supplies in country. The total for both containers is about $12,600. I would ask that you sincerely pray with us that this need will be met.
Also, we are hoping to ship a container from here to Belarus which will contain clothing and medical supplies. The cost for this shipment will be  about $6000-$7000, depending on how soon we can ship. At this time, the rates are lower, but could go up at any time.  If we do not obtain clearance for Belarus, I have found out that these are also needed in Haiti. As you can see from the picture, our staging area is full of supplies that are sorted and ready to go.
We find that the needs are so great everywhere. The following is an except that I recently received from a pastor that was involved in one of our containers to the Ukraine. We are praying that if it is His will, The Lord will make it possible to send another 40,000 lbs for rice there.
“……..Meanwhile a call came in for the lady and her children who desperately needed help—a decision was made, and a special journey even though out of the way was taken to deliver rice, sugar, cooking oil, beans and canned meats and canned fruit to this lady and her children. She later wrote a letter to her family in America stating this was a miracle, one she never expected to happen. A small book could be written on the story of this container and all the wonderful doors that were opened; how people were helped, orphans receiving food, widows included, and those refugees fleeing the war raging in Eastern Ukraine.  To God alone be all the glory for He truly has done great things through His people.”
Again, thank you all for your prayers and support. I pray His richest blessings on all of you.
In His Service,
Johnny
