Dear Friends,
I knew that it had been a while since I sent out an update, but until I just checked, I had no idea that I had not sent one since September. I apologize for this.
Praise the Lord, we are all doing well here and it is as busy as ever. I am going to attach a letter I wrote recently (click here) and you will see that we have 4 new boys with us now. We never know what the Lord is going to do around here! Also, the Lord is sending food in new ways which is being distributed to those in need. Although it adds to the work, we are thankful for the opportunity to be God’s hands and feet. As always, we are thankful for those who come and get the food and deliver it to the feeding ministries and individuals where it is so needed.
As you can see by the pictures, we had a great Thanksgiving. I guess we had 50-60 here. In a couple of the pictures you will see many of us standing around the kichen/dining area. It is our custom that, before we have the blessing and eat, we form a huge circle and each person tells what they are thankful for. While we all know that we could never even start to count all of the blessings that our Lord has chosen to bestow upon us, we are so thankful.
Also, you will see that the container finally made it to Malawi (with no small amount of difficulties) and was unloaded. Soon, I will ask Jan Sawa, who went there to clear the container and help distribute the supplies, to write a description of the blessing this was/is to so many.
Another busy year is almost over. Again, I want to remind you all that it is not us here at Fairhaven that makes things happen. Whether it is meeting the physical needs of the kids here, seeing to the maintenance needs here, or shipping halfway around the world, it only happens because so many of you respond to the Lord’s prompting by praying for us, providing financial support, or coming out here and helping with the work. It is your prayers and support that keeps things going.
