Fairhaven Update March 14, 2019

This letter is a little different than my other letters. Sissie wrote the following letter to send out with receipts and I wanted to include it also.

Philippians 4:6-7—Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Dear Friends,

Fairhaven is beginning it’s 53rd year and Johnny and I our 47th year at Fairhaven. We are blessed and thankful that He has given us the privilege of serving Him.

The Lord has made it possible for us to help with the needs of others locally and abroad as well as providing a home for children. We consider Fairhaven a channel through which He works. You are also a channel because of your prayers and support. We are thankful for you and for all who volunteer to sort clothes and other supplies, distribute food, and so much more.

The pictures below are of Emily. She wasn’t quite two when she first came to live with us. Now she is eighteen and proudly showing off her driver’s license. Time goes by so fast. Emily and Harold will graduate in May. Emily hopes to attend college in the fall. We will then have 3 in college. Leslie will graduate in December and Allie will begin her second year in August. Please keep them all in your prayers.

Again, thank you for being such a blessing. We pray His richest blessings on you.

In His Service,

Sissie, Johnny, and Kids.

Things continue to move as quickly as ever around here, with the kids, feeding in the community, and also the ladies working on preparing for the container to Transnistria. Also, there is a load of beans that we are hoping to be able to get into Cucuta, Columbia for the Venezuelan refugees. Conditions have quickly deteriorated there. I would ask that you sincerely pray that for this load.

We never know, from one day to the next, how the Lord is going to work, or how He may direct us in a particular situation. We do praise Him for His faithfulness in meeting the needs though.

Three days ago, Jan Sawa, director of MWANA Missions in Malawi, sent me the attached pictures of the results of a sudden storm that hit Malawi, Africa. If the Lord is willing, we will be trying to ship there this year, also. I would surely appreciate your prayers in regards to this situation. We know that if it is His will, then He will open the doors to help. As of a couple of days ago, there were 30 dead and over 6000 people displaced by this event. You have to remember that they have no FEMA, or supplies to help meet the needs of these people. Their help must come from ministries and agencies outside of the country. Malawi is rated the 6th poorest country in the world. Should you like to see a YouTube news article, you can go to 🇲🇼 Malawi floods kill 30, displace 6,000 | Al Jazeera English .

Please be sure that we are deeply appreciative of all of your prayers and support. It is my pray each day that we will be the instruments and ministry that the Lord would have us to be. You can be sure that we do mess up at times, but He does know that it is our heart’s desire that He is lifted up and glorified through whatever is accomplished through Fairhaven.

Thank you, and may the Lord richly bless all of you.

Johnny
