Fairhaven Update June 2, 2021

Ephesians 3:20-21—Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all the ages, world without end. Amen.

Dear Friends,

I pray that this letter finds all of you doing well.

We thank the Lord that we are all doing well, besides Sissie still having some issues. Please keep her in your prayers.

It is kind of nice with school being out and not being on such a tight schedule each day. The Lord willing, the kids will be attending Bible Camps, helping us get some work done around here, and, if possible, Sissie and I may take them to the Smokies for a week or so later in the summer.

Sissie and I recently had the opportunity, and the blessing, of visiting a ministry in Morristown, Tenn. The name of the ministry is God’s Warehouse and it is is operated by the Nolachucky Baptist Association, although there are several denominations involved in making it all work. It is actually a combination of 5 ministries and I wish that all of you could see the work that the Lord is doing through His servants there. It was truly a blessing for us to see all of this. One of the things that they try to do is to ship one 40’container a month, of much needed supplies, to Israel.

Several years ago, the Lord permitted us the privilege of having a part in shipping 2 containers to Israel. For me, that was a special blessing. As I drove home from Morristown, I was thinking of the needs in Israel. Then, in the last few days as I have watched the news, I watch people here in the US, as well as countries around the world, turning against Israel. Seeing all of this gives me an even greater desire to help Israel if the Lord would allow us to.

Attached you will find a one minute video from The Joseph Project in Israel. Also, an excerpt from a letter from there, a needs list, and some additional information. Should the Lord want to fill a container from here, that would be great, or perhaps we are just to collect things as people give and then we will take it all to Morristown for shipping. Will you please pray for the people of Israel as well as this project? There is no way that you and I can imagine what they face daily, but we do have the opportunity to be a blessing and an encouragement to them.

As always, we thank you all for the faithfulness of your continued prayers and support. We pray the Lord’s richest blessings on all of you, and a very special peace as we go through these times.

In His Service,
Johnny

Here are a few of the other projects accomplished last week by The Joseph Project.

Friday May 14th, 2 truckloads to the cities adjacent to the Gaza Strip under constant rockets, sirens, bomb shelters. First truckload delivered 10 pallets – over 3,000 gift boxes (donated by Samaritan’s Purse) to Ashkelon municipality and representatives of the surrounding small Jewish villages. These are specially wrapped toys and activities, for age groups, and boys or girls. Volunteers, mostly youths, collect the boxes and distribute them to children – going house to house, giving to children in the bomb shelters, some of whom have not left these rooms for 5-6 days. While unloading the truck in Ashkelon, the sirens went off and our staff and the volunteers had to evacuate to a bomb shelter, and then were able to go back to continue working. Another truckload reached Ashdod, to our partner organization Beit Hallel, with various household items and activities for children, to distribute to people in bomb shelters in the area. More teams from the Gaza Strip adjacent area in Israel will visit the JP warehouse on Wednesday, May 18th, to collect more such items, to distribute to the people.

In addition they provided food vouchers and also spent over 10,000 dollars on food packages for evacuated families from the rocket areas many of whom fled North.

Please keep the Joseph Project staff in your prayers as they work everyday helping were needed.

How we can be a blessing to Israel:

Cost of shipping a 40’ High Cube Container from Morristown, Tenn. To Bet Shemesh, Israel, (just west of Jerusalem) approximately $6,000.
