Dear Friends,
First of all, I want to thank you all for your continued prayers and support. You will never know how much we appreciate you.
Second, thank you to so many of you who have given, and continue to give, for needs in Ukraine and Turkey. Attached you will see the results of your giving as the supplies are being unloaded at God’s Warehouse in Morristown, Tn. Sissie and I took the load up there last week. These supplies will be sorted and shipped from there. We thank all of you who made this load possible and we thank all of those at God’s Warehouse who work so hard to sort, pack, and ship all of these items. I assure you this is no easy task!! The last picture (L4) is a picture of all the bins which your supplies filled. Needless to say, these needs will be ongoing for years and Sissie and I plan, the Lord willing, to make another trip in the fall if we have the supplies.
I am not sure how many of you are aware, but the needs increase each day with so many disasters all over the world—which most are not aware of. (how many know about the cyclone hitting Malawi in which there are about half a million people displaced, over 500 deaths, and thousands of acres of crops were lost? ) Also, right here in our own country, such as the tornado that just hit Mississippi, the storms/flooding in California, and as more and more people are losing jobs and the homeless population increases. As we are made aware of these situations, all we can do is pray and ask the Lord how He would have us to help. I can tell you from experience that it can certainly overwhelm you if you are not careful. All we can do is pray and trust to His leading as to how/if we are to respond. One of the most important things that any Christian can do is to pray.
I am sure you all are aware of the tornado that hit Rolling Fork, Ms., and the destruction there. Again, we have the opportunity to reach out to those with desperate needs right here at home. Attached you will find a list of the supplies desperately needed. If you live in that area, you can drop the supplies at the address mentioned in the attachment. If you live in the Covington area, you can drop the supplies at either New Zion Baptist Church at 17387 New Zion Road, Covington, La. 70435, or here at Fairhaven, and we will be sure the supplies are delivered. Please do remember those folks in your prayers.
As I have said before, we are simply to make ourselves available to be a conduit of His love and compassion in these uncertain times in which we are living. You and I choose how our lives affect others that we are in contact with each day. You and I have the ability to make each day better or worse for those we are around.
We have need of used eye glasses for a ministry in Mexico. If you would have any to donate, we can get it to the people who are going down there around April 15th. I can assure you that those glasses will be a blessing to others which you can’t even start to imagine.
