Fairhaven Update August-12-2023

Ephesians 4:30-32–30 Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, [a]by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. 32 Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven [b]you.

WISDOM FROM OSWALD CHAMBERS:  Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible.

Dear Friends,

Early this morning I was thinking of some of the things that are going on in the world and, again, wondering why some are being so devastated and some are not. I sure do not have the answer to that. After that, I was thinking of some places in the world I have visited, where people only have what they need to survive, yet were so happy compared to some I know who have everything, materially. And then the Lord brought to my mind how HE can use anyone, anywhere, in any kind of situation, to accomplish His will in their life and to glorify Him. How blessed we are to have a Lord who loves us as He does!!! I often tell people that “God works in spite of me”, and He does.  I am so glad that He knows my heart.

Ok, I want to sincerely thank all of you for your prayer for the beans. We now have about 84,000 lbs of beans, that my friend in Nebraska has found. They are located in Colorado. Half of them will go to a refugee camp in Sudan and the other half will go to Malawi. The load for Sudan will be handled by God’s Warehouse in Morristown, Tn. and we will handle the load for Malawi. The cost of getting our load to Independence, La. is covered, along with the cost of the beans. However, at this time we have $6800 of the $12,000 needed for shipping to Malawi. Again, thank you so much for your prayers for the beans and please keep in your prayers for the Lord to supply the cost of shipping. We know He will. He is always faithful.

The Lord has also answered our prayers regarding taking the loads to Tulsa and we thank Him for this also. The Lord willing, we will have a load going up next weekend, and then another, larger load, going around the first of October. Again, thank you for your prayers regarding this need.

Folks, as we go about out daily lives, let is not be so busy as to neglect those around us who are hurting and/or in need. The number of these people is growing every day. I was just on the phone with one of the pastors at our church and we were talking about the fact that each of us (including each of you) is put here, by our Lord, “for such a time as this”. Each of us has a gift that can be used to minister to those who are in need or hurting. If you do not know what your gift is, ask the Lord and I assure you He will show you.

As always, thank you all so much for your prayers, your support, and to those of you who come to help us with all of the physical work. I do thank God for each of you.

We pray that the Lord continues to bless you all.

In His Service,

Johnny
