Fairhaven Update August-29-2023

Romans 15:13–  Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Worry, by nature, is the product of a lack of faith and trust in God.

– John MacArthur

Dear Friends,

First of all, thank you all for your continued prayers and support for Fairhaven, as well as other ministries in which we try to help. We thank God for His faithfulness in using your prayers and support to meet needs in places most of you can’t imagine, both here and abroad.

I want to share with you, again, God’s faithfulness in accomplishing His will. As you know, we never could find the rice, so my friend in Nebraska found 2 loads of beans. Then, as you know from the last update, we still needed $5000 to complete the shipping cost to Malawi. Since the last letter, the Lord has provided that also. We praise Him, again, for His continued faithfulness in using people here to meet needs halfway around the world.

As things are now, it looks as if we should have the beans in 3 weeks or so. Due to logistic problems at the mills, with trucking, etc., everything is a little slower now. I am hoping we can ship to Malawi within 2 weeks after receiving them. I constantly remind myself that I work on God’s schedule, not mine!

I want to ask each of you to be in very sincere prayer for our country. There are people who will tell you what is going to happen in our country but only the Lord really knows. In the ministry here at Fairhaven, we have always tried to leave God “working room” for Him to move and use us and this ministry as He sees fit. I think that we often limit God with our preconceived ideas. I think this also applies when praying for our country. We need to constantly be aware that we serve a God who loves us, cares for us, and who is in complete and total control of all that is happening—and we need to remember that Prayer Can Change People and Can Change Circumstances.

As I often do, I want to remind you all to constantly Be Thankful. Let me ask you something—Do you enjoy others being appreciative for what you do for them? Well, imagine our Heavenly Father, who continually pours His blessings on us moment by moment, and yet we just go our way, never expressing our thankfulness for all He is constantly doing in our lives and the lives of those we care for. The attachment is a picture that I have on the wall in my office. I do want to be constantly reminded…..

Again, thank you all for your prayers and support and please continue to pray that Fairhaven will continue to be a conduit of our Lord’s love and compassion in all we do. I pray His richest blessings on all of you.

In His Service,

Johnny
