Fairhaven update 10-28-2023

Phillipians 2:12-13: So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; ¹³for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

Dear Friends,

I do hope that this letter finds all of you well and that the Lord is meeting your needs in every way.

As usual, we are busy as ever. Yesterday morning, as I had breakfast, about 6:45, I had a call from Hammond to please come there asap to get 4 pallets of food. Now, that was not on my agenda for the day, but I have to often ask myself, “is my agenda more important than people having food, or other needs being met?” We thank God that, in this time when food is so expensive, and some kinds more difficult to find in some places, that He continues to provide so that we can be a channel for Him to meet the needs of so many. We finished, about 3, giving it out for distribution.

Also, FINALLY,, and Praise God!!, we loaded the container for Malawi this past Tuesday, the 24^th. Several times through the years, we have had containers/shipping that seemed to be a major challenge from start to finish. Well, so far, this one was. Even when we loaded, we noticed the pallets were not packed as tightly as normal and that made for some very tight loading which takes much more time. However, the Lord gave me 2 men, with a forklift, and they did a great job and were happy to do it. Just another little reminder that our Lord cares about the little things we have to deal with each day.

I want to thank all of you who made this load possible. I put the check in the mail this morning for the shipping cost. In order to put this together, the Lord had to touch the heart of a Christian farmer in Nebraska to purchase the beans, others to help with the cost of getting the beans to Independence, La, others to help with the storage and loading, others to donate other materials for shipping, others to help with shipping costs, and a great shipping agent to help with all of the documents/logistics involved in shipping. Attached you will find the container routing schedule.

Also attached are some pictures of loading supplies from God’s Warehouse in Morristown, Tn. These folks are a blessing to thousands and have been a blessing to us, through the years, in more ways than I can count. At this time, should any of you be interested, we have access to PALLETS of Aptamil baby formula. Should you know of any organizations in need of this, please let me know. It doesn’t expire till October 2024. I want to mention that, should any of you be looking for/praying about a way to help in Israel, Don and his team also have a ministry, Harvest of Israel, and work extremely close with organizations inside Israel. I assure you they are excellent stewards of all that the Lord provides for them to help.

Another attachment is a photo of Christmas boxes that will be delivered to Tulsa in a couple of weeks and will be given out to needy children in that area at Christmas. Do you have any idea of the work and time that goes into the boxes? I thank God for putting it on the hearts of ladies to do this and be such a blessing to so many children. Doesn’t that, again, demonstrate just how much He cares?! We tend to take so many of His blessings for granted.

We can never thank you all, enough, for your prayers and support. Sissie and I are well aware that so many have, and continue to, sacrifice, in order that Fairhaven may keep serving. We do thank God for all of you and ask that you continue to pray that Fairhaven will be a conduit of His love and compassion to others.
