Fairhaven Update – Dec. 22, 2011

Posted by on Dec 25, 2011 in Featured, News, Updates

Dear Friends,

Just a quick update to let you know that the “Christmas Container” arrived safely in Arad, completely intact.
We did have a little problem in Germany. From each shipload of containers, customs will choose 3 or 4 for spot inspections. Ours was one of the ones chosen this time, in Bremerhaven. Although there was no problem with the contents of the container, we still had to pay $798 for the inspection, storage, etc. Just another “cost of helping people”. Then, in Romania, we have to pay about $600 in taxes and other fees. We just have to trust God to cover all of this, but are so thankful that the container arrived in time for everything to be distributed before Christmas. The Lord is so good!!

Below are a couple of letters I have received from some who are receipients of some of the Christmas boxes and supplies. Although these letters are written to Sissie and I, the actual praise and thanks goes to so many of you who actually made all of this possible. Only because you responded, as the Lord touched your hearts, are these people, 7,000 miles away, able to receive these gifts and be partakers of God’s blessings. Thnk you so very much for your faithfulness!!

Attached are a few picts of the unloading, which was completed about 2 AM Saturday morning, Romania time. As soon as I have pictures of distribution, I will be sharing those with you also.

In His Service,
Johnny
