Fairhaven Update – Jan. 28, 2012

Dear Friends,

At last I am sending a few of the pictures of children receiving their Christmas Boxes and some of the older people receiving their Joy Bags. If the Lord is willing, and I can get my part done, I am hoping to have some video of some of it on the webpage in a few weeks.

As I look at all of the pictures/videos I have rcvd, I am thinking of all of the work and sacrifice of so many of you that made this possible for those who received. I am often reminded of the quote I read somewhere that stated “The best intentions never fed anyone who is hungry or clothed anyone who is cold.” Nor did the best intentions make these boxes and bags available to bless these people. It also took a lot of work and I do appreciate all of you who had a part in it.

I think we only shipped about 1700 boxes this year and we are hoping and praying to do better with both the boxes and bags next year. I can assure you that there are never enough for all of those contacting me from different villages. If you are interested in helping, I can tell you that this is the time of year to purchase gloves and knit caps as they go on sale. Those are the most difficult items to find locally in Sept. and Oct., when so many are working on these.

I also have a couple of prayer requests. One is that we are getting close to having enough supplies to ship again–including a lot of very good medical supplies. Would you please pray with us that we will know God’s will in where to ship and that He will again provide the funding as He is always faithful to do?

The other thing I want to mention is that I have recently came in contact with an orphanage in Craiova, Romania. It is a poor area and the orphanage can’t afford playground equipment for the children. If you know of someone who may be willing to donate a few pieces of commercial grade equipment, could you please contact me?

As always, I thank you all for your prayers and your support.

In His Service,
Johnny
