Fairhaven Update – October 29, 2013

1 Corinthians 15:58–Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Dear Friends,

As I was out working this morning, I was thinking of some of the things that are taking place throughout the world today. As I thought of it, it came to my mind an incident that happened after the last presidential election. A friend called me and asked me what I thought about it. I told him that I was glad to know that Lord was still in full control of the situation, just as He had always been. As we watch what is happening in our country, and the world, I am so thankful that we as Christians can have that “peace that passeth all understanding”.

I am always amazed at how quickly the time passes. The Lord willing, 2 weeks from this coming Saturday, on November 9th, we will load the container for Romania. We have all but $4500 of the funding for it, so please be praying for that. As you can see from the pictures, the ladies are working on the Christmas Joy Bags and Christmas Joy Boxes. At this point, it looks as if we will have less boxes than ever this year, but the Lord knows all about that also. We are thankful for every box and bag that the Lord provides for it will be a special blessing to those that the receive them. Also, there is a picture of the ladies who work diligently, year around, to sort clothes, toys, and household items for shipping not only to Romania, but several other countries. Also, right now, as they pack for Romania, they are also loading a trailer for the Appalachian Mountains. Only the Lord knows how we appreciate all of those who come here to help. Without them, it just would not happen.

In other pictures, you will see some of the kids at the Washington Parish Fair. They all went and had a great time there. Also, a picture of Leslie and Tyler as they went to the school prom. The “going” is never ending around here for the kids are involved in many activities at school, church, and community.

The past few mornings, my devotions with the kids has been on “How can we be a blessing to others?” It is good to hear their ideas, but I was sharing with them that the ideas are empty if not put into practice. Please pray that it will be desire of their lives to allow Jesus to work through them in order that their lives will express His unconditional love to others. Also, that this will demonstrated through the ministry here, wherever the Lord allows us to serve.

Again, thank you all for your prayers and support. May He continue to meet all of your needs in a special way.

In His Service,
Johnny
