Fairhaven Update – November 06, 2013

Luke 6:38
Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Dear Friends,

Just wanted to remind those of you who are local that we will be loading the container for Romania on Saturday morning. As usual, we will have breakfast about 7:30 and try to start loading about 8.

I would just like to share with you how the Lord has put this together. I have shared with you how we loaded another container a few months ago for Moldova and sent all of the clothes and toys that we had. Well, the Lord has sent in more clothes, along with coats and shoes, than you can imagine. However, the real miracle is the help that He has sent the ladies to help sort and pack it all. It is truly a blessing to behold!

Then, we had a group out last Saturday who were also sorting the medical supplies. I could not believe the work that they accomplished in such a few hours. Also, we have a church in Membrino, Texas that receives medical supplies from hospitals in the Fort Worth area, then they sort them all for us. They will be bringing a large load down for this shipment also. The Lord just seems to orchestrate it all.

Also, Katherine has put together 300 Joy Bags for the elderly, that are boxed and ready to ship.  You have no idea how much work went into each one and we are so thankful for all of her work and to those of you who contributed to make it all possible.

I want to share another incident that has happened in the past couple of weeks.

It looked as if we were only going to have about 1000 Christmas Boxes for children. I was concerned, for had people in Romania asking if there would be enough for certain villages and ministries we try to help each year. One morning a couple of weeks ago, I was having my devotional and really had a burden about the boxes but realized it was all in God’s hands and we could only do what we could. After my devotion, I cked my emails and had another letter from a pastor in Romania re the boxes. As I walked out of the office, I just said, “Well Lord, it is in your hands.” A couple of hours later I was driving to town and rccd an email from some friends who live out of state. They were a little upset that they were so late in helping on the boxes. As happens to all of us, it had just slipped their mind. I emailed them and asked them to call me. They did, a few min later. We discussed the best way to help and decided the most efficient way to help quickly was to send a donation. A short time later they sent me an email saying they were sending $2,500 to help on the boxes. Because of this, we are going to have a total of about 1,450 boxes to ship. Linda and Sherri have sure put in some hours making boxes!! We are so thankful to all of you who have made boxes or contributed to making it all possible. It would not happen without you.

As I was thinking of this, what really occurred to me was how much God loves and cares for us as individuals and what He will do in order to bless us. There are children there in Romania, about 7000 miles away, whom we will never know or see. Yet, He does know and see each of them. So, He touches hearts here, people respond, the workers are present to help, and those children have something special for Christmas. Now, those boxes are in no way a necessity, but I assure you that they are a blessing that you can’t start to imagine.

I think we still need about $2,500 for the shipping cost, but I am confident that as the Lord has brought us this far, He will take care of that also. Please be praying with us regarding this.

I realize this letter is longer than usual, but I do hope that it will be a blessing to you all, as you see His faithfulness in meeting the needs of others.

In His Service,
Johnny
